OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE QUEZON CITY COUNCIL

    In light of the recent incident during the rally held at the People Power Monument on July 1, 2026 involving Councilor Ranulfo “Tatay Rannie” Ludovica and an enforcer from the Land Transportation Office, the Quezon City Council acknowledges the public concern that has arisen and affirms the importance of addressing the matter with fairness, objectivity, and due process.

    Accordingly, the Quezon City Council shall undertake an impartial inquiry into the incident to establish the relevant facts and determine whether any actions taken were consistent with the standards of conduct expected of public officials.​      

    The Council recognizes the dedication of all public servants who faithfully serve our constituents, including Councilor Ludovica. At the same time, we emphasize that while public officials have the duty to raise legitimate concerns and demand accountability, such responsibility must always be exercised with respect, professionalism, and due regard for the dignity and rights of others.

​    We trust that the appropriate processes will take their course and that all those involved will be afforded fairness and due process. We likewise hope that this incident serves as an opportunity to reinforce the principles of ethical leadership, responsible public service, and accountability.

    The Quezon City Council remains committed to upholding the dignity of public office, strengthening public trust through integrity and professionalism, and ensuring that our actions consistently reflect the values we are entrusted to uphold.
