At Tahanan, we stand as a beacon of hope in the battle against domestic violence and drug dependency. Nestled in the heart of Payatas, within Quezon City's largest depressed area, Tahanan serves as a sanctuary for those seeking refuge from the clutches of addiction.
Established under the visionary leadership of then Vice Mayor Vicente "Tito" Sotto III and nurtured to fruition during the term of Charito Planas, Tahanan has evolved into the Quezon City Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center.
Our mission: To offer rehabilitation services to those in need, regardless of their financial status or background.
Supported by the unwavering commitment of the Quezon City government, particularly through the Vice Mayor's Office, Tahanan operates with a bed capacity of 500 individuals, catering to a diverse population from various provinces and adjacent cities. Over the past 18 years, we've welcomed over 10,000 residents, most of whom are under the age of 25, showcasing the pressing need for our services in combating drug dependency.
Tahanan has undergone significant expansion and enhancement. Recognizing the evolving landscape of drug abuse, our programs have adapted to address the rehabilitation needs of not only drug-dependent individuals but also street children caught in the vicious cycle of addiction.
At Tahanan, our holistic approach to rehabilitation is anchored in the Therapeutic Community (TC) model, encompassing rigorous treatment phases spanning from reflective detoxification to spiritual and social reintegration. We recognize the pivotal role of family acceptance in the recovery journey, fostering weekly dialogues to facilitate understanding and support.
Beyond rehabilitation, Tahanan endeavors to equip residents with the skills and resources necessary for successful reintegration into society. Our livelihood programs, including soap-making, candle-making, and rug-making, empower individuals to rebuild their lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Looking ahead, Tahanan is poised for further growth and impact. With plans to expand our livelihood offerings to include welding and computer literacy courses, we aim to provide residents with valuable skills for sustainable employment opportunities.
As we continue our mission of transformation and restoration, we invite you to join us in making a difference. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy, your support enables us to extend a lifeline to those in need of hope and healing.
Tahanan is located at Molave Ext., Diamond Hills, Payatas B, Quezon City, Philippines. To learn more about how you can support our cause, please contact us at 427-1474 and 430-8743.
